Rachael joined the Oak Bros team as Director of Operations in August of 2023 and brings her experience in operations, sales, and business from the wine and fine dining industry to apply to next level tree care.
With a BA in History and a lifelong passion for the outdoors, Rachael has built her career on strong professional connections, exceptional customer service, and a passion for innovation of solutions in business.
Rachael was born and raised in a suburb of Saint Louis, MO, Kirkwood - a proud Tree City USA! She was a competitive horseback rider (hunter-jumper and dressage) for many years and rode up until moving to Washington, D.C. in 2014 after the sale of her wine shop and bar in Saint Louis. In D.C, Rachael built a career as a top wine sales professional at some of the city’s best restaurants and retailers, before accepting the role of DOO of a fast-growing luxury restaurant group. She obtained her CMS Certified Sommelier diploma in 2013 and her SWE Certified Specialist of Wine in 2012. As COVID-19 changed the face of the food and beverage industry, family loss brought Rachael and her now-husband back to Illinois where they began the large-scale restoration of their Italianate house (built 1864) in Bloomington.
When not at Oak Bros, Rachael loves spending time with her husband, Kyle, their son, Arthur, and their three dogs - Daisy, Edgar, and Eolas. She also loves gardening, travel, cooking, hiking, painting, playing music, and working around the house on the many projects a historic house requires!
